Instructor Dave and two students traverse a ridge above Temple Basin Ski Area last week during the 7 day mountain skills course. Another bumper snow year in Arthurs Pass and for the NZSSI. We have lots of courses running from Mountaineering to Avalanche Skills and with such great snow cover our avalanche and snow caving courses have plenty of different terrain and snow to learn about.
We have fully booked the Back Country Skills for Skiers and Snowboarders course, which is aimed at those wanting to head out of bounds and explore the back country, or as a prerequisite for the stage 1 Avalanche Professional course. If there is sufficient interest we are happy to provide another course later in the season.
There have also been some great courses completed this season. These include a 7 day Mountain Skills course and a 5 day private course geared towards up skilling people and introducing them to the mountains of New Zealand in a safe and professional environment.
